Transformation Through Rhythm with Harambee

• Transformation Through Rhythm benefit concert:

• Rehearsal dates & times:
  Sunday, February 8 and Sunday, February 15
  4:15 – 5:15
   
  We’ll accomplish two important goals at these rehearsals:
  • Reawaken / reinforce Sii Sii Sii: even if you haven’t performed this piece with the chorus in the past, this will be plenty of time to get it comfortably in your head, surrounded by chorus & Harambee members who can help.  Be bold; it will pay off!

  • Introduce / practice the NEW SONGS that go with our June 6th concert piece — with the accompanying xylophones!

    There will be two Sunday afternoon rehearsals ahead of the concert.  You’re welcome to come to either or both, though must attend at least one to perform on the 22nd.  We’re timing these to allow the 15-minute travel to St. Paul’s (plus a short break) ahead of that evening’s chorus rehearsal.

    Locations: Rehearsals on February 8 & 15 (and the quick run-through on February 22) are at the Federated Church in Sycamore: 612 W. State.  While the church faces IL Route 64, the main parking lot is off of Greeley.  Come in through the double doors (the left-hand door will be unlocked) and head upstairs:

• PERFORMANCE: Sunday, February 22
  DeKalb High School: 501 W. Dresser Road (one mile from St. Paul’s)
  1:30 sound check; 3:00-3:30 performance
  Concert dress will be black pants & shoes, with a provided African dashiki (African shirt); if you have your own, feel free to wear it.
